Abstract
A mobile location-awareness agent-based tourist guide system called iJADE Tourist Guide is presented. We focus on how to integrate GPS device and agent technology to provide location-awareness tourist information in mobile device. We use GPS device for locating visitor’s current position, and adopt iJADE agent to retrieve nearby tourist information. The limitation of computation power and network bandwidth in mobile device can be overcome by utilizing the agent technology. The main objective of the system is to allow visitors to browse the relevant tourist information based on their interest and location in handy device at anytime and anywhere.
