Abstract
With a current basic Network Mobility (NEMO) Support, all the communications to and from a node in a mobile network must be able to go through the bi-directional tunnel established between the Mobile Router and its Home Agent when the mobile network is away from the home. One of the issues in designing mobile network with MR-HA bi-directional tunnel is to solve the route optimization problem in the nested mobile networks. Since the aggregated hierarchy of mobile networks becomes a single nested mobile network, in order to forward packets to the nested mobile network nodes, multiple levels of bi-directional nested tunnels are required. We propose a hierarchical mechanism that allows direct packet tunneling between HA and MR and allows localized mobility management for MR.
This research was supported by the ETRI, Korea, under the research support program. This research was also partially supported by Konkuk University under the sabbatical year research support program and the MIC(Ministry of Information and Communication), Korea, under the ITRC(Information Technology Research Center) support program supervised by the IITA(Institute of Information Technology Assessment).
