Abstract

The Digital Yellow River Programme (DYRP), initiated in 2002 by the Yellow River Conservancy Commission, is a large-scaled, complicated and dynamic programme. The DYRP is envisioned to build a comprehensive ICT infrastructure to handle the business of integrated river basin management using modern technology. It will be implemented in a three-layer structure (the infrastructure, the application service platform, and the application systems) along with the technological support and programme ensuring system. This article gives an overview of the programme and discusses the contents and functionalities of each component.
