Abstract
A novel Fourier descriptor (FD), which is derived from chord-length functions (CLF) obtained through equal-arc-length partitions of a contour, is proposed. The proposed FD is tested on a standard shape database and experimental results show that it outperforms the existing FDs which are derived from other shape signatures.
