Abstract

This paper discusses the shaping of Website development in four New Zealand regional destination marketing organisations. It explores the social and political processes through which the generic Web technology was adopted and adapted within the local situations of these individual tourism organisations. In addition, the paper illustrates the sometimes contradictory relationships of collaboration and competition that link networks of tourism destination marketing organisations.
