Abstract

The parallelization of the sequential finite element package is presented. A professional finite element code Hydro-Geo developed at Warsaw University of Technology is used for modelling, calculation and analysis of the elasto-plastic behaviour of the geotechnical constructions. The parallel versions for shared memory and distributed memory machines are developed and implemented on supercomputers Sun 10000E at Warsaw University of Technology and on Sun 65000 and Cray 3TE at Edinburg Parallel Computing Centre. The Cray Fortran compiler directives and the Message Passing Interface library were used for the parallelization of source code
