Abstract
In the past, the most common way of network-based computing was through wired networks. However, with advances in wireless communication technology, the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) has become a viable option for performing distributed computing. Taking this into account, we present in this paper a cluster based on wireless and wired nodes. The wireless nodes can attach and detach dynamically in a controlled way based on a high-level communication protocol. The goal is to achieve an efficient load balance, a reasonable execution and communication time within the cluster.
