Abstract

This study developed a multivariable, computer-based fuzzy logic method to control of child blood pressure during anaesthesia. Fuzzy logic reasoning, a powerful new form of information processing, will be employed to infer depth of anaesthesia from on-line measurements of cerebral activity (EEG) and cardiovascular function (hearth rate and arterial blood pressure), reflexes of a patient break down under general anaesthesia. Many electronic monitoring systems continuously give information about vital human parameters (blood pressure, hearth frequency, etc.). Other, unmeasured information can only be monitored by an anesthesist. Develop an intelligent integrated control system that can take over some of the routine tasks of anaesthesia after the induction.
