Abstract
Periodic sequence for single track absolute-type shaft encoder is studied. The absolute-type shaft encoder detects the absolute angle of rotation. Multi-track one having Gray coded sequence are practically in use. This paper searches possibility of single track absolute-type shaft encoders, and obtains good periodic sequences for them.
