Abstract
We compare and evaluate three methods for handling extraposition phenomena with categorial grammars: one method which makes use of the extension of categorial grammars by features, the so-called gap- threading method, and two methods which rely on extensions of the deductive framework of the grammar formalism either by a rule of functional composition (Combinatory Categorial Grammar) or by a rule of functional abstraction (Lambek calculus).
