Abstract

This paper presents a normalized hierarchical VcctorQuanlizcr with performance feedback scheme for monochrome imagedata compression. The scheme includes results of the decoder within the coder to compute error due to higher block size of coding for onward decomposition of the block. The closcd loop nature guarantees minimization of the overall error. The scheme is implemented on a multiprocessing system. Results indicate superiority of the coding scheme at low bit rates.
