Abstract

In this paper we describe a case-based planner (BOLERO) developed for learning the procedure of a diagnosis in a medical expert system. A diagnostic plan is build according to the most recent information known about a patient. BOLERO has been tested in a real application of pneumonia diagnosis. Results show that BOLERO is able to acquire enough strategic knowledge to perform a diagnostic procedure with a high degree of success.
