Abstract

Symbolic reasoning and data interpretation often coexist in Autonomous Systems as formally separate entities. In order to bridge the gap between them, a well-founded calculus based on a many-valued logic is introduced. This formalism preserves the ability to perform deductions on the exact abstract knowledge and it allows to reason on the uncertain knowledge acquired through a learning process. Sonar-sensorized mobile robotics provides a meaningful case study.
