Abstract

Currently, the transport of valuables and their storage is based upon physical determent. Very often, this leads to the escalation of violence. Therefore, AXYTRANS developed a whole new way of thinking with regard to the transport of valuables (i.e. paper money, bank cards, ...): AXYTRANS. This system aims to degrade the valuables in the case of an agression: the value of the original bank note or bank card is reduced to that of a piece of paper or plastic. The practical implementation of the system required the practical knowledge of a variety of different disciplines: basic electronics, physical and mechanical security, cryptography, computer security, ... In this project, CRYPTECH took care of all the logical security aspects and of the implementation of the centre serveur. The system is currently being tested by the PTT in France and in Belgium.
