Abstract
The present work discusses the results of parallelization of a conventional CFD code, initially developed for sequential machines. The authors used the domain decomposition technique with overlapping and the software package PVM. The results showed parallel efficiency in excess of 100%, attributed to the favourable effect of the domain splitting on the numerical efficiency of the algorithm and cache hit ratio.
