The Procrustes shape distance is a metric that captures the shape of an object independent of the set of Euclidian transformations (translation, rotation, and scale). The Procrustes distance computation assumes that all objects can be represented by a set of landmark points, each object has the same number of points, and exact correspondence between the points is known from one object to the next.
