Abstract
E-DETECT package, created for dissemination through learning concerning the computed tomography knowledge, brings many indirect benefits. E-DETECT is useful in the training and service activities carried out by the companies that produce industrial tomographs or use them for applications, because it gives the customer the possibility to witness the power of the new technology. The virtual platform offers acces at an on-line course – Demo-DETECT and a virtual computed tomography – Virtual-DETECT. Structured in two competence levels it allows an easy understanding of the physical phenomena which takes place and the component’s operation. The virtual reality tomograph developed offers the user a ‘hands on’ experience for the main applications of this technology in the industry. The connection between theory and practice realized in the educational package leads to the growth of the user’s knowledge level as well as to the confidence attainment in the possibility to meet the new technologies.
