Definition

An adaptive chosen plaintext attack is a chosen plaintext attack scenario in which the attacker has the ability to make his or her choice of the inputs to the encryption function based on the previous chosen plaintext queries and their corresponding ciphertexts. The scenario is clearly more powerful than the basic chosen plaintext attack, but is probably less practical in real life since it requires interaction of the attacker with the encryption device.
