Abstract

In this paper, we identify a class of complex virtual objects which are updatable. Furthermore, we present a method of implementing views focusing on how materialisation technique can be used to provide a solution for maintaining identity for virtual complex objects in order to be unambiguously updated. Our proposition includes a set-oriented language for updating virtual objects enhancing view capabilities in order to be used as a uniform framework for querying and updating a database thereby providing full data independence.
