Definition

Neurofitter is a software tool developed to enable computational neuroscientists to tune the parameters of a neuron model. The constraints on the model are given in the form of intracellular voltage traces recorded during stimulus protocols. The parameters are in general the maximal conductances of the ion channels in the model. Neurofitter uses global optimization methods to find the parameter values that minimize the differences in the phase-plane trajectory density plot between the target voltage traces and the voltage traces generated by the neuron model.
