Specification of SETU with WSMO

Enterprise Interoperability IV

Abstract

The Organisation for Electronic Transactions within the Temporary Staffing Industry (SETU, [[1]]) operates a major interoperability project concerning temporary staffing of personnel for different application areas. The hr-XML (www.hr-xml.org) standard is applied to the Dutch situation. Several UML (Unified Modeling Language) class diagrams representing different information streams have been drafted as the basis for these Dutch standards. This paper shows the relevance of applying a more formal specification approach like Web Service Modeling Ontology (WSMO, [[1]]) to SETU. By applying WSMO to a case, we also identify potential weaknesses and/or relevant questions regarding the applicability of WSMO.
