Abstract
This research aims to design and implement modular IoT platform for home monitoring. The modular IoT platform is comprised of several IoT devices with different technologies. A local gateway is built to increase interoperability level of the platform by bridging the communication between non-IP capable IoT devices and cloud server. The cloud server is used to store collected data from all IoT devices and to provide services for client application. From the experiment, it is shown that a home monitoring application which consists of room temperature sensor, humidity sensor, power consumption measurer, and appliance controller can be realized using the platform. The client application is also successfully developed and is able to present temperature, humidity, and power consumption information from the IoT devices.
