Abstract
This article presents the idea and the existing status of the theoretical advancement of the modularity concept. In the empirical part, the research results of the non-hierarchical analysis of clusters were applied, adopting the case study method, to showcase seaport modularities that are representative of the designated developmental types. The results confirm the generic diversity of modularity and they may be useful for the purposes of strategic and operational management of ports.
