Abstract
The location of users by electronic devices is in great demand due to the facilities provided by the Internet of Things (IoT). In the search to make a correct decision, the present study has been written which aims to use the knowledge acquired from bibliographies, technical documents and empirical research to develop a comparative study of the existing technologies in terms of Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) refers. The IPS allow to develop diverse applications among others with the control of accesses, the security in networks, the management of information, and optimization of the services of emergency, among others. Obtaining data in real time provides an important advantage over what clients or administrators need. This advantage can be well exploited in indoor environments. The correct choice of a connection technology for IPS offers innovative solutions to needs of users to improve their quality of life and provide an opportunity to use daily applications.
