Abstract
The motivation for this research was to find a way to sustain the collaboration between scientists engaged in a training program. The collaborationstarted face to face, but it is envisaged that the training program and the trainers’ community will transform to an online format. According to the needs criteria can be proposed to design an online space, that would answer the needs of the members of the community to sustain the process of collaborative learning. Data was gathered from content analysis, observations, interviews, focus groups and online surveys with community coordinators and community members. The model of the community was developed which led to a set of recommendations for an online community of practice. Developing an online community of practice between the members of the community could be an answer to their learning needs and could improve the culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
