Abstract
In a country such as India, wherein the annual budget is majorly occupied or predominantly dominated by the power sector, there exists a huge requirement for the effective utilization of power and simultaneously efficient monitoring of the same. Along with physical monitoring, if the same system or incoming power could be monitored remotely this would be an added advantage. Remote monitoring would indulge accessing of the system from any corner of the world leading to the concept of Remote engineering. Monitoring involves the accurate capture of live data on a timely basis and at the same time storing the obtained data in the respective database. The system mentioned above is a transformer being monitored collectively for its current and voltage values, which in turn are classified into 42 parameters. So after the successful comparison of values pertaining to the digital meter connected to the transformer and the values obtained from remote monitoring the exact loss incurred can be calculated and optimized.
