Abstract

Events and temporal expressions are crucial elements in the construction of the text. In this article, we present the first free Arabic corpus for events and temporal expressions by adapting the TimeML standard. For this, we first present the concept of events and temporal expressions as well as their main ontological and grammatical characteristics for the Arabic language and according to the TimeML standard. Second, we describe our annotation scheme and annotated corpus.
