Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the electromagnetic field analysis on time and space of a walking human body using Kinect2, a motion sensing device produced by Microsoft. More precisely, we capture walking motions of human body using Kinect2 and applying the simulation model constructed from the captured data to OpenFDTD, we derive the distribution of transmission coefficient S 21 (the transmission-reception power ratio) in Industry Science Medical (ISM) band of 2.4 GHz around the human body model. We then evaluate the Bit Error Rate (BER) of the communication path considering the transmission coefficient. In particular, we propose integer codes defined over finite rings of integers as a suitable candidate for WBAN systems, and compare the error correcting performance of integer codes with that of BCH codes, error correcting codes recommended in WBAN standard.
