Abstract

We describe our experience from one of distributed concerts that we help arrange where musicians and other artists could collaborate over distance. Achieving low latency of audio and video signals sharing between participants is a critical factor. Over the past several years, we have developed a low-latency real-time system based on programmable hardware (FPGA) for audiovisual transmission. We discuss issues involved in arranging such a performance and lessons learned.
