Abstract
Several studies have been conducted at the Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka since 2004 to integrate Computer Aided Language Learning (CALL) for enhanced performance. In contrast to the initial studies conducted 15 years ago, many technological advances have occurred in the recent past making a strong presence in the language classroom leading to major changes in hitherto existing teaching and learning approaches. This paper presents the results of a study conducted over four academic years at the University of Kelaniya in teaching German to intermediate and advanced learners with the assistance of an online learning platform. In addition to the subjects of previous research, this study also includes two new groups of students from International Studies offering selected third year course units in German.
