Abstract

Numbers of secondary vocational school graduates are not sufficient to cover employers’ demand for the shortage workforces. One of the reasons is the current disproportion between the real numbers of secondary school students and the employers’ needs. Another reason is that the study fields and the numbers of students are not planned in accordance with the needs of national or regional economy. School performance determination is a problem in which the interests of schools and public are confronted. The paper is crucially focused on design of a tool for a relevant estimation of numbers of students to be accepted to study the particular study branches of vocational education in transport and transport services. This has been done for purposes of one of the eight administrative regions of Slovakia, Bratislava self-governing region.
