The Impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution on Engineering Education (ICL 2019)

Abstract

The work is concerned with the adaptation of professional engineering training to the requirements of modern digital production. The analysis of the typical infrastructure of engineering education, ensuring the implementation of project-based methods of teaching in the conditions of smart education, is carried out. The structural-functional model for adaptation of engineering training to the requirements of production digitalization trends is considered in detail. The proposed approach is based on the implementation of the concept of an educational and industrial smart cluster. The conditions for broad professional training and mobility of the specialists are created through the “digital production – university” smart infrastructure. The result of the social responsibility of such cooperation of educational institutions and enterprises is the creation of a new type of infrastructure – an educational and industrial smart cluster.
