Abstract

Fully exploring the hidden inner feeling of elderly diabetic patients, and satisfying the feeling in the research and development stage of blood glucose meter will improve the design process of blood glucose meters and improve the design quality. Therefore, a study is carried out on the preference of elderly diabetic patients to blood glucose meters. Starting with the study on the psychological feelings of elderly diabetic patients, the user’s preference factors are extracted through the Evaluation Grid Method of Miryoku Engineering. First, the blood glucose meter samples on the market are selected, and an in-depth interview is made for more than 8 elderly diabetic patients, to construct the relationship between the semantics of user preference at the upper level (the psychological feeling of users) and the specific preference characteristics at the lower level. Then the KJ method is adopted for integration and sorting, to sort out the evaluation grid diagram of 8 elderly diabetic patients, which can link the correlation between the user’s psychological feelings and specific features. In this way, it improves the satisfaction of elderly diabetic patients, and provides a new method for the design of blood glucose meters.
