Abstract
The aim of the work is to present the development trends of high performance computers. The analysis focused on system architecture, processors and computing accelerators used. Particular attention was paid to interconnection networks, connecting system nodes. The problem of energy saving in the construction of large systems was also discussed. The data from the list of 500 largest computer systems was used in the analysis.
