Abstract

Controls in aircraft cockpit shall be accessible and usable for pilots in different body sizes. The appropriate representative of pilot population that should be taken into account in accessibility design is identified in this paper. General requirements for accessibility design are proposed. According to different operation frequencies, urgencies, and duration of the controls, a principle of arranging cockpit controls in different accessible areas is proposed. Finally, the cockpit accessibility test evaluation procedures and attentions are introduced.
