Abstract

In this chapter, we provide a brief overview of recent research works based on fuzzy set theory that aim to make data management systems more flexible. Three aspects are considered: (i) preference queries to classical databases, (ii) modeling and handling of uncertain data, and (iii) cooperative query-answering techniques.
