Abstract

Classically, searching an unsorted database requires a linear search, which is \(\mathcal {O}(n)\) in time. Using Grover’s quantum search algorithm, it is possible to do it in \(\mathcal {O}(\sqrt{n})\) time which is a quadratic speedup compared to its classical counterpart. The aim of this research is to exploit this speedup and find other applications in different algorithms commonly used in database systems.

The project has been supported by the European Union, co-financed by the European Social Fund (EFOP-3.6.3-VEKOP-16-2017-00002).
