Abstract

Interactive TV applications impose novel requirements in future networks due to the huge volumes of data transferred through the network. ENFORCE provides a framework for the management of such applications targeting to support the real time adaptation on end users needs. The project offers a set of functionalities over virtualized resources as provided by the SoftFIRE platform. Apart from the envisioned functionalities, ENFORCE acts as a benchmarking tool and an extension to the SoftFIRE framework enhancing its monitoring capabilities for the provided virtualized resources and services. Our aim is to pro-actively respond to changes in iTV demand, thus, making the platform fully aligned with the real needs of end users. In ENFORCE, virtual resources are defined for realizing Set top Boxes (STBs) functionalities to be transformed to virtual STBs (vSTBs).

Project: Intelligent Monitoring of Networking Services (ENFORCE).

Call: SoftFIRE Project Open Call II (June–October 2017).
