Abstract
Typically, third parties must not capture the data transmitted in IoT (Internet of Things) constituted of the devices with limited capacities and different configurations. Hence, proposals for safety communications are analyzed to identify if it consumes lower energy through formal methods, simulations and measurements. However, the two last limit the evaluation with a finite set of scenarios. For this reason, this study used a systematic methodology to investigate formal methods used by articles in the context of the low-power security solution for IoT. The results correspond to a diversity of mathematics tools, research topics, analytical strategies, and other information to motivate the use of formal methods to generalize the evaluation of new research with an unambiguous description in all potential scenarios.
