Abstract
Forest planning, based on mathematical optimization, makes it possi-ble to model the complexity of a forest system. In this work two approaches to forest plantation planning were evaluated. The aim was, firstly, to regulate production and, secondly, to maximise economic benefit. The models proposed give satisfactory results and allow different forest management scenarios to be explored efficiently.
