Abstract

Skilled talents play an indispensable role in the development of advanced manufacturing industries. The rapid development of the industry is followed by a large gap of skilled talents. This study summarizes the background of the development of the advanced manufacturing industries in the United States, Germany, Japan, and China, as well as the status of talent training. The comparison found that for the development of the Industrial Internet, these countries have successively introduced relevant strategies after 2010, proposing the clear industrial development directions, such as the “Strategy for American Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing”, the “Industry 4.0”, the “Connected Industries”, and the “Industrial Internet”. Furthermore, the similarities and differences of talent training in these countries have been compared and analyzed, including training groups, training organization forms, training methods, and training content. The study found that the higher vocational education is the main way to cultivate skilled talents. These countries have formed their vocational education systems that conform to the national conditions and industrial development, and it requires national and local government policies and financial support. The cultivation method of the integration of education with industry is conducive to promoting the adaptation of the talent chain to the development of the industry, but how to stimulate the enthusiasm of the enterprise in the talent training requires more guarantee measures.
