Abstract

In the Courses of Study for information of high schools and technology of junior high school in Japan, the contents include “information security”. In these subjects, students learn about information security mainly through examples of measures and case studies. These methods of information security education are didactic, and more experiential learning is desired. However, there is a little experimental teaching material for information security. In this study, we developed teaching materials for information security that detects an unsecure access point. This teaching material detects unencrypted Wi-Fi signal and sounds the buzzer at regular intervals depending on the signal strength, so that we can intuitively know the distance to the unsecure access point. We confirmed the function of this teaching material by conducting an evaluation experiment using it.
