Abstract

Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus has been widely proposed and accepted as one approach to address sustainable development. This paper develops a conceptual framework of Product-Service System (S.PSS) applied to Distributed WEF Nexus to describe and visualize the complex interactions of multi-stakeholders and interlinkages of WEF resources within the nexus system to defend global economic, environmental and social risks. Through the modified nexus map tool applied to the local harmonized case studies from heterogeneous contexts from China, Kenya, and Netherlands, to demonstrate the benefits and reveal the critical factors and challenges of promoting solutions of S.PSS applied to Distributed WEF nexus to achieve sustainability for all.
