Abstract
A banner is composed of background, products, copywriting, decoration and so on. Background color plays an important role in banner. This paper summarizes the method of how to select the background color of banner which focuses on the application of hue in banner background color. In order to verify the usability of some of the proposed methods, the color beauty of banner and user satisfaction, the banners of two groups of different products are designed based on the proposed color matching method. 38 industrial design students were invited to answer the questionnaire which uses semantic difference method and subjective evaluation method. The conclusion of the experiment is that when the background color is selected as the main color of the product, the user satisfaction and beauty evaluation are the highest. The experiment shows that the method is feasible but still needs improvement.
