Abstract

In a perspective of prevention of the risks of professional deintegration with the advancing age, the paper presents the results of the statistical exploitation of a French national survey on health and career paths. Among the factors associated with the risk of dropping out among the over 50s, these highlight the importance of employment paths, past exposure to work constraints and the duration of these exposures, and lastly, health-related factors. They also make it possible to characterize the socio-demographic and employment profiles of the individuals most vulnerable to the risk of dropping out. All of these elements call for the adoption of an integrative and combined approach to securing career paths, preserving health and improving working conditions.
