Abstract

The advance of technology allows daily monitoring of people with cardiovascular diseases. It enables patient empowerment, making them increasingly autonomous and responsible for their health by using digital tools and solutions. The purpose of this study is to idealize a system individualized to the patient with cardiovascular diseases, including monitoring, follow-up, treatments, and communication with healthcare professionals. A review of the existing literature was carried out, identifying the need to understand patients’ needs and preferences to adapt the digital solutions. Therefore, a questionnaire was developed to characterize patients’ preferences, showing that patients prefer to use their personal devices, such as mobile phones, due to their ease of use and commodity. Most patients would like to receive information through a mobile application. They also agreed that teleconsultation and telemonitoring helped to improve their health status.
