Abstract

In the transition to the digital economy the main requirement for the education system is the development and use of innovative tools and techniques that meet the trends and requirements of the information society for training a graduate who will be able to formulate a problem in a professional language and solve it using new intelligent technologies. However, globally, there is a decline in interest among young people in obtaining engineering specialties, therefore it is necessary to create a learning environment that will motivate students to study engineering professions. The purpose of this study is to create a system for increasing motivation based on the use of new tools in training future engineers. To achieve this goal, a virtual reality laboratory is being developed, in which students of the Kazan Federal University Naberezhnye Chelny Institute will study the operation of various machines used in the repair of automotive equipment and units, as well as directly interact with their virtual models. A feature of the proposed method is the creation of digital content and virtual models of equipment (similar to those used in the industry) by university staff and students of automotive and computer fields. This approach allows to organize collaborative projects to solve real-world problems using the same simulation environment that is used in production. At the same time, in the process of collaboration teachers and students of several directions exchange experience and knowledge in an environment similar to a real professional one.
