Abstract
The funded research and teaching project “Transition, Innovation and Sustainability Environments” (TISE) offers a worldwide unique academic program covering social systems in transition. TISE delivers a holistic take on transitional processes from a diverse point of view, integrating the knowledge, experiences and competences of four different institutions: Danube University Krems in Austria, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Portugal, University College Dublin in Ireland and Poznan University of Economics and Business in Poland. Under the umbrella of Systems Sciences, it integrates Socio-Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, and Technology, leading to a deeper understanding of the multidimensional environments and their issues. At the same time, the program offers sets of tools and methodologies to approach the emerging vulnerability spaces of transitional changes, that includes both opportunities and risks, that emerge from these.
