Abstract
This study aims to analyze how social media informs women’s facilities in public transportation. Public transportation is one of the facilities provided by the government for its people to facilitate public access. However, there are problems in public transport, one of which is women who are sometimes the objects of crime in public transportation. Therefore, special facilities for women are needed in public transportation. In today’s era of social media, a policy will be more easily conveyed to the public. Social media, especially Twitter, is needed in delivering women information services in public transportation. This study used a Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS) approach to Nvivo 12 Plus. This research data used Twitter through several busway accounts such as BRT Semarang, Trans Jakarta, and Trans Surabaya. The results indicated that information about women’s and safe women’s facilities had received special attention from the public service providers but was less intensely discussed in the Twitter accounts of BRT Semarang, Trans Jakarta, and Trans Surabaya. The results of the word frequency showed that the greeting word "sis" was used more often on Twitter. They used Twitter as a medium to receive suggestions, criticisms, and complaints from the public through #continuetocleanup, which is a step to continue improving busway services to become comfortable and safe public transportation for the community.
