Abstract

The current digital transformation, called Industry 4.0 and representing the fourth industrial revolution in manufacturing and industry, influences production of goods and services as well as value chains and business models. Automation, Big Data, AI (artificial intelligence) and IoT (Internet-of-Things) are technologies within Industry 4.0 that create so-called Smart Factories allowing the manufacturer to control the entire production from one platform.

In the future, IoT will play a central role in every-day life and it will open new business and market opportunities as well as it will give market actors room for being active creators.
